When Little 'Ny turned 2 we bought her a potty.
Three months later I took her shopping for "big girl undies". She picked out 3 different designs: Dora the Explorer, Little Mermaid, and Happy Feet. But, she took no interest in wearing them.
In November, I introduced bribery with Jelly Belly jelly beans and M&M's (or as Little 'Ny says: "numanas"). That seemed to work ... for one day.
Yesterday her teacher told me that Little 'Ny has had no problem going pee pee in the potty at school . She doesn't even have to bribe her any more. Yet, when we are home Little 'Ny says she is scared to go pee pee in the potty.
When I found out she went pee pee in the potty twice today at school and after reading Little Miss Mel's success in potty training I was inspired to pick back up on the potty training. So, when we got home I changed her into her Dora undies, rolled up the rugs and brought her potty down stairs to the living room. She was nervous at first, but proud to be wearing her "big girl" undies. She didn't want to sit on her potty even when I set it in front of her portable DVD. But, about 15 minutes after dinner I noticed that she was grabbing at her undies and doing a funny little squirm. I quickly ushered her to her potty ...
WOO WOO!!!
We are back on the potty train to Diaperfreeville! She went pee pee in her potty at home. (Of course, she got a purple Jelly Belly as a reward and a sticker on her potty. )
Woohoo! What a big girl!!
