life outside the beer garden

Hubs and I have always enjoyed going to festivals for the music, food, "boothing" (ok, only I like this part) and (of course) the beer garden. Most of our time at festivals are spent in the beer garden hanging out with friends.

As most things, once we became parents life changed in both obvious and very subtle ways. When Little 'Ny was younger it was easy to take her to these kinds of festivals. She mainly stayed in her stroller, napped and ate pretty much anything you put in front of her. She didn't have opinions on what she wanted to do and was easily entertained by the hustle and bustle of the people.

The St. Patrick's Day parade was the first festival we have been to in a while.

After standing in long lines for food we found a great area of the park close to the Balboa Park House of Pacific Relations International Cottages. They had set up a grid of flags. They were beautiful blowing in the wind. Little 'Ny had a great time chasing her Daddy around them.

We could hear the Irish music where we were and Little 'Ny just couldn't help herself. She loved spinning around and dancing.

Of course Little 'Ny and I went "boothing". We came back with a little green mug with white shamrocks on it, a green and white streamer crown and this annoyingly loud cute shamrock horn.

Little 'Ny had a great time. Even though our all of our festivities were held outside of the beer garden it was a wonderful day. (But, I did miss having some of that green beer!)
