I am not (nor have I ever been) a professional dancer. I started taking dance lessons when I was 3 years old and continued in college. Why I didn't go into professional dancing is beyond me. I started to by working in theatre right after I graduated, but the need to make money and have a stable income overshadowed my passion.
I love dancing. I miss dancing.
So You Think You Can Dance is my weekly window into a life I missed out on. So, my passion for this show has compelled me to voice my personal opinion. Last week I posted my opinions on Twitter. For the remainder of the season I am going post my opinion weekly. So here is my week 2 post ...
NOTE: I am writing my opinion before the judges comments.
Chelsea T & Thayne - They didn't seem into it or each other. The choreography didn't work with the music. Dancing wasn't like last week's.
Chelsie H & Mark - She is still my favorite female dancer this season. She looks so innocent, but when dancing she is incredibly sexy (even with her pinkie toe sticking out). He looked intense ... really in character. I loved it!
Will & Jessica - He is a GREAT dancer. Amazing. Phenomenal. I liked her better tonight, but I thought she didn't dance it "hard" enough. She didn't hit it at times that it would look more contemporary than hip hop.
Kourtni L & Matt - Both good dancers. Thought they danced the fox trot well. But, it didn't dazzle me. There was something missing for me.
Courtney G & Gev - Nice choreography. Nice chemistry. Liking him more and more.
Katee & Joshua - He is still my favorite male dancer this season. He is so lite on his feet compared to his appearance. I can't believe he is just a popper. She is a great dancer and is growing on me. Excellent performance!
Susie & Marquis - She is hot, but you could see where she is lacking in training. I understand why the choreographer called her a "street salsa dancer". I didn't even notice him. Not good. Not quite sure how these two got through.
Kherington & Twitch - These two are my other favorite female and male dancers. I *heart* Twitchington! Beautiful choreography. Beautiful chemistry. Just beautiful.
Comfort & Chris - I love a good crump. Girl was good! He did ok .. for a white boy. Would have liked it to be a little bit harder, a little bit dirtier.
P.S. Cat looked HOT tonight! But, good gawd, how tall is she?
P.S.S. What is with the costume designers? They need some help.
What are your thoughts?
I'm a little behind on reading all my fave blogs. But I totally agree with you. I'm glad Susie went. Not sure that Marquis should have but he would have eventually. I think the black boys are the best of the show and predict they will be the last ones standing.
