wordless wednesday & week 9 weigh in combined

I am combining my weekly weigh in post with an update about my weekend since there is just too much to post about! But, it does all tie together ...

We had A LOT going on this weekend. After Little 'Ny's usual Saturday morning gym class we hit the road with my brother-in-law in tow. First stop was my little cousin's college graduation party. I use the term "little cousin" loosely considering she is now a UCLA graduate (geez, I feel old).

I come from a Filipino family, and if you know anything about Filipino family get togethers food is the center of attention. Suprisingly my aunt opted for a Mediteranian theme, so the food was a bit healthier. What was the killer was the Goldilocks cakes and the King's Hawaiian cake. Watching the belly dancer they hired gave me some inspiration for this week to work on my abs!

Sunday was Father's Day which meant a lot of eating. We had brunch at my father-in-law's house. We noshed on delicious fritatas, muffins, turkey/apple/feta sausages, fruit and banana pudding. Little 'Ny had a great time visiting with her cousins -- reading, sticking stickers, watching movies and being silly.

After that we had a sushi dinner at my parents' house. I think Hubs ate his weight in sushi. Even with all that eating I still was able to lose one more pound!

Oh yeah, last week's Donut Friday ... I only at 3/4 of a donut! Pretty proud of myself actually. This Friday I will be taking the day off work, so NO DONUT!

  1. Jewish family gatherings are all about the food too LOL.

I love the way you've captured the movement of the belly dancer while her face looks so still and serene.

  2. Yup yup, I'm Filipino and I know what you mean...but then, that seems true to most culture too!

    Happy WW!

  3. Congratulations on loosing a pound! Impressive feat considering what you say about the family get togethers and all that cake (yum!)

  4. The dancer shot is my fav, great great shot.

    Bring on the sushi!

  5. Not much on Sushi, but the cake sounds good. Love the belly dancer.

  6. In all cultures, so much centers around food. Makes it difficult sometimes to eat healthy.

Happy WW! Thanks for your visit and comment.

  7. Mine is not so wordless either, it is all good!

  8. yep - it's ALL about the food! Sounds like you guys had fun - and with all of that, you STILL lost a pound! Good for you!!

  9. Your doing a lot better than I am. Although I did not eat my weight in snack foods today. Yay Me! I'm one pound closer to my goal weight too!!

  10. It sounds like you had a fun weekend! I wish I could eat all those tasty treats and still lose weight...good for you!
