(Excuse the greasy hair -- I didn't bother washing my hair since I was getting done -- and the black circles under my eyes -- I didn't get much sleep that night and wasn't wearing any make up.)
I submitted some photos of my hair last November to Whoorl for Hair Thursday. After 564 votes, months of pony tails, hideously outgrown roots and dry ends I finally did it. I called up my friend Liesle at Robert Cromeans Salon in downtown San Diego for a cut and color.
I walked into the salon and begged Liesle to make me look like a hip, young mom instead of the sad mess I had become. As a daughter of a hair stylist I am not scared of color or different hair styles. I decided to go with style #2 (which won by 46 votes) ... we are heading into summer after all, so I want to look sun kissed and light. I showed Liesle the photo and let her take control of "the situation" (a.k.a. my hair).
My hair naturally parts pretty deep to the side, so I don't think a middle part like Sandra is going to happen. But, I can try to get close to it. I love the shorter length, but to ease the shock Liesle only cut 6" off (I might go back to have her cut it shorter). I went for the funky chunky blond and red highlights (I will leave the subtle highlights to the fall/winter months).
So, without further ado ... here is what I look like now:
P.S. Thank you to all of the commenters who called me "gorgeous" ... I will be bookmarking your blogs and commenting often!
