old friends and new friends

This weekend I made the trek up to the town I grew up in to attend my best friend's wedding. We started hanging out our junior year in high school and have been the dearest of friends ever since. We have wonderful memories of sleep overs, prom, double dates, broken hearts, college parties, complaints about our jobs, and the day my daughter was born. We can go months without talking, but when we do it is like time has never passed.

My best friend was a beautiful bride ... a vision! Even today Little 'Ny keeps asking me where "the princess" is.

We had a great time ... good food, seeing old friends and of course dancing! Little 'Ny loves to dance at weddings and this one did not disappoint. Her favorite part of the night was the conga line. She crashed out hard that night.

Saturday I had lunch with the very lovely Miss.

(Excuse the squinting and bags under my eyes ... we were facing the sun and I have had a hard couple of weeks.)

It was my first time meeting someone I met online, so I was a bit nervous. We met at a great Mexican restaurant for some margaritas and good food, and spent 3 hours talking each others ear off. I never thought I would meet someone online and become really good friends with them, but I was totally wrong. Miss is an incredible woman with a very good soul. If you don't know her you need to. I know she will be a friend for life!

Thank goodness for old friends and new friends. I would be lost without them.

  3. Oh, yay for you! I've met quite a few people from online in real life, and it does tend to go that way. So much of the superficial "nice to meet you" crap is out of the way, so it makes it so easy, doesn't it? Glad you had good times with old friends and a new friend, too.

  5. I could pack your bags into the bags in my eyes. I might even be able to fit both of yours into one of mine. ;-)

Great photos! Glad you had a good time.

  6. It's always interested me how people become friends. I guess as we get older we lose some of that vulnerability that it takes to open up and let someone in. Glad you are bringing new ones in AND celebrating with the long standing ones!

  7. That is so awesome - both the friendship you have with the "princess" and meeting an online friend.

Sounds like everything was a hit! :)
