100 Random Things About Me: The Teenage Years

I was a busy teenager never really sticking to one path. Here are five random things about my teenage years as an example:

21) I modeled for a bunch of retailers who no longer exist (Zody's, The Broadway, May Company). When I lost a swim suit contract to another model I quit all together.

22) I love to dance, but stopped taking lessons once I reached junior high school. To replace that void I became a cheerleader in 8th grade. Then I became captain of my high school dance team in 10th grade. When the dance team program was canceled I became one of the cheer leading co-captains in 12th grade. Bottom line, I can be annoyingly perky!

23) I hold a second degree blue belt in Tang Soo Do, but quit when I became the only girl in my class and a boy knocked the wind out of me during a free sparring match. I guess black eyes and modeling don't really go hand in hand anyway!

24) I played junior varsity volleyball in 9th grade, varsity volleyball in 10th grade, and moved back down to junior varsity volley ball in 11th grade to be captain. Strange, I know, but it worked for me. What is even stranger is that I was a 5'2" outside hitter. Who ever said height mattered?

25) I got my driver's license the day I turned 16 and my first car was a brand new Nissan Sentra E. I drove that car until I totaled it when I was 6 months pregnant with Princess D -- I was 29 years old. I guess that is the only thing I really hung on to!

As an adult I have found that simplifying my life has allowed me to stick to somethings like yoga, but I am still learning to commit totally to some other things in my life. I guess that is what new year resolutions are for! Check in on Thursday to see my list of 2009 goals.
