Fiercely Loyal

I met Miss on Plurk. She was so incredibly sweet and funny. After late nights of Either/Or and reading her blog I discovered that we had so much in common and what a huge heart she has. We met for the first time in September and had a girls weekend last month. Since then a day doesn't go by when I don't chat with her and she occasionally gets a surprise call from Princess D. I am incredibly blessed to call her my friend.

A couple days ago, Red Lotus Mama hinted that she had two of her favorite guest posting for her. Well, I guess one canceled because she asked me. I'm Miss in case you were wondering. There's plenty of things I can say about myself because, lets face it, I'm my favorite subject. I'll spare you and only talk about one thing here today. If you want to hear my ever so important opinions on other stuff, just go visit my blog.

Moving on...

I like to believe myself to be a good friend. I am fiercely loyal and will be the first to get heated when I see my friends hurting. This has caused me trouble in the past because I lack a brain to mouth filter and I usually say the first thing that comes to mind. I have a serious case of foot in mouth disease. Over the years, I've learned a bit to control this problem, but I still get angry, my blood pressure elevates a tad, and my instincts always say "defend".

As I said, being this type of person has gotten me into trouble. I have always been the type to put my the people I love first, before even myself. This is a self destructive thing when it comes to relationships because I always end up self sacrificing what I want and what is best for me, even in little ways. I've struggled a long time to find people I want to surround myself with who share the same qualities as I friend that I feel I possess. I've always felt that I've given, given, given and got little to nothing in return. It's been a frustrating and maddening road.

Until now. I am finally in a place in my life where I feel I have found people who are like me. Who value my friendship and the relationship we keep. I'm lucky enough to be guest posting for one of them. My friendship with RLM has been such a blessing to me. She has inspired me to be a stronger person and she has held my [virtual] hand through many, many hard nights. Another person I'm blessed to have in my life is that other guest poster that is hanging out around here. I could go on for days about her too. I guess what I am trying to say is that if you strive for something, and for certain people in your life, its rare to find a good fit right off the bat. But sometimes, you get really lucky finding two at a time in your life when you feel most alone.

Thanks Red Lotus Mama, for giving me a little space on your lovely blog. Love you girl. xoxoxo

  1. Well, I think RLM is pretty special too. I can't wait to meet up with her next month and with ZJ and you in July, although I sense that I may be a 4th wheel (if that's possible ;p)!

  4. We felt your sincerity and warmth when we met you. We're happy that RLM found a friend in you. Relationship is a very basic need for all of us. We need supportive people. The difficult part is learning to let the good in and the bad out, and you're IN!

    XOXO
