100 Random Things About Me: Not So Innocent

You know the stereotype about Catholic school girls ... uniformed, good young ladies with a wild side! I attended a Catholic high school and Catholic college. I look pretty innocent and I probably am compared to most. But, there are some signs of a slightly wilder side of me. To add to my 100 Random Things About Me is a list of "not so innocent" things about me ...

51) I was arrested when I was a freshman in high school for suspected arson. It sounds way more dramatic than it really was. Two friends and I thought it would be interesting to start a small bonfire at the local park while our high school baseball team was playing. A woman walking by saw the smoke and called the police. We were arrested on the spot, finger printed and booked. A week later the charges were dropped. That was my one and only arrest.

52) When I was 17 years old I went with some friends to Venice Beach. Two of us decided to get our upper ear cartilage pierced. I hid it from my mom for months by keeping my hair down over my ear. When she finally had to give me a hair cut her comb caught on the hoop. It was not pleasant ... the feeling or the lecture from my mom!

53) I spent countless hours during college and my first 3 years after I graduated drinking gin & tonics in local bars, smoking packs of cigarettes and playing a lot of pool. Must be why I don't frequent bars now ... got enough back then!

54) The summer after I graduated from college I got my navel pierced and I didn't tell my parents I had done it. One winter I went to England & Paris with them. When we were walking through security to get on the Eurostar train I set off the alarm. It turns out the metal post is what triggered it. It was quite the surprise for my Mom & Dad! I loved my pierced navel, but had to remove it when I was pregnant thanks to my belly button popping out. I have not put it back in since then since my abs really aren't at a point where I want expose them!

55) I have tattoo on my lower back (a.k.a. tramp stamp) that I got in Kauai in 2002. It was the most agonizing hour and a half ... pain ranking second after child birth. I could barely handle the thick black outline. That is why it is not colored in. I am a total wuss.

As you can see I am really not as wild as compared to some, but there is a little something in me.

  1. Hi RLM,

You say you're not as wild as some but you're certainly more wild than me!

I do not know if I would have the guts to get piercing or a tattoo (not so much the pain or anything, I'd be more scared of my mum when she found out!) but, in all honesty, I haven't really had the desire to get those done either...

  2. I don't think the tat would look as good colored in.

  3. We have gotten used to the earrings, after all I love jewelry. Thank goodness that tat, no matter how pretty is hidden! Still my opinion that art belongs on a canvass not on the skin. Yes, my eyeliner tat is a necessity due to my allergies.

  4. LOL you called it a tramp stamp. That is freakin classic.

I have no tattoo's and all my extra piercings in my ears and belly button are now closed up. But I do want to get my upper ear pierced again.

Your tattoo is so pretty. You're so right on pain, mine felt like I was drifting in & out of consciousness for hours!

  8. I remember getting our belly buttons pierced in OB! Didn't we hit a bar for some liquid courage beforehand? You could add that as being "wild". ;)

    Ha ha we're so tame!

  11. Pretty tattoo! Nice ears too! I wouldn't say that's too wild. I think it looks nice!
