If you have been reading my blog for a while you know that I am a So You Think You Can Dance junky! It is the one TV show I am passionate about. So passionate that I actually went to last season's live performance when the tour came to San Diego.
Last season I attempted pseudo live blogging my opinion about the performances. I wrote my comments down before the judges gave their comments. I am not a professional dancer. I started taking dance classes when I was 3 years old (ballet, tap & jazz). I continued through high school with hip hop. Then in college I took ballroom. I have always loved dancing. It is a part of me and always will be.
So, with out further ado here is my personal opinion about tonight's performances:
Janine & Phillip - How naturally gorgeous is she?!?! He is unreal. Great routine. I enjoyed it!
Asuka & Vitolio - Probably the most BEAUTIFUL pair this season. Not sure I loved the performance though.
Karla & Jonathan - I want her legs ... DAYUM! Not as HAWT I thought it could be, but it was good. He has such a sweet face that I would have loved to seem more passion in those eyes.
Randi & Evan - Very cute pair. Favorite performance of the night!
Paris & Tony - Bad ass choreography. Loved it. Both were great.
Kaitlyn & Jason - Not as good as last year's Bollywood performance, but still impressive. So fast ... I have not idea how they can keep up. That handstand move ... DANG!
Janette & Brandon - Gorgeous dress. The end was excellent.
Ashley & Kupono - WTH was that?!?! But very nice dancing.
Melissa & Ade - Their strength is amazing and looks so effortless.
Kayla & Max - Now that is what I call HAWT! He is SEXY! I couldn't take my eyes off her.
I haven't found my favorite dancers yet, but I have to say that Tabitha & Napoleon are becoming my favorite choreographers.
As a fellow junkie, I thought it was awesome! It seems like the last couple of seasons, the judges gave many ancers a 'pass' because they weren't dancing in a familiar style. There was no need to give anyone a pass tonight. Loved it, and thought that the group as a whole may be better than last year!
ReplyDeletei too am a junkie! and so proud that many of the dancers are from denver. as for the bollywood performance, having danced indian classical i can say it ROCKED! last years performance was a little cleaner, but it was later in the season, this particular choreography was more difficult. the other thing we at home could not hear was the slapping of the feet which is essential and the judges said they nailed...and that handstand well enough said.
ReplyDeleteI admit, I like this show...but I dunno if it's because of the show itself or because it makes my girls get up and pretend they're on it. Still, I like it. I think my fave may still just be Kat!
ReplyDeleteI never saw it before so I can't compare any to previous years, but I totally loved it. Way to get me hooked... Hmmm... I wonder if I can get the inmates to watch it since I will start being at work when it is on. :)
ReplyDeleteI am HUGE SYTYCD fan! I can't tell who are my favorites yet either. Like you, dance was been a part of my life for many years. I was actually a student of Mia Michaels and her family....many, many years ago :)
ReplyDeleteI love, love, love this show!
ReplyDeleteGreat roundup.. I agree with you on all counts here...
