100 Random Things About Me: The Sand, The Salt, The Sea

On Sunday Miss and I took a photo walk in Encinitas. I love Encinitas, but even more I just love the beach. I can remember as a kid in my playpen at the beach with the warmth of the sun tanning my skin. On the weekends when I was in high school my friends and I would head over to Venice Beach to check out the sights and shop. When I was in university we would hit the beach in the morning and head to our afternoon class still in our bikinis under our clothes, sand on our legs and flip flops on our feet. The beach has always been part of my life. Here are the things I simply love about it ...

76) The way the air feels on your skin and tastes on your lips. The moisture and the salt. My body seems to soak it up.

77) The sound of the ocean crashing and the seagulls. My last two years of university I lived in South Mission Beach in San Diego only two houses off the sand. Even with the doors and windows closed I could still hear the ocean as I fell asleep or when I woke up. There is nothing more soothing.

78) Watching the surfers. I am actually quite intimidated by waves and the sealife that might find me tasty. But, I love watching the people who have no fear. I wish I could be them.

79) The colors and creativity is vibrant. You can always find the most creative people, interesting houses, amazing artwork and talented musicians.

80) The feeling of my feet sinking into the sand when the water washes up on them. Nothing feels better on a summer day when my are a bit swollen from the heat.

  2. My favorite time at the beach was late at night. So calm and quiet and relaxing. It really was the perfect place to go to sort out all the thoughts in my head and calm the soul. I miss living close to my beaches sometimes...

  4. I don't get to make it to the beach as much as I like I will miss those things and more as I am heading to the desert soon. Gonna have to make some trips to Cali since it will be closest.
