Will never forget

I will never forget where I was and what I was doing the morning of September 11, 2001. Every moment plays out in my memory like an old movie on reel. The panicked voices on the radio announcing the crash while I was in the shower getting ready for work. Kneeling in front of the TV soaking wet in my robe watching the horrifying scene of towers falling. The voice on the other end of the phone telling me that downtown San Francisco is evacuated and not to attempt to come into the office. The busy signal I heard causing my head to hurt every time I tried to call my friends in New York. Falling asleep on the sofa due to emotional exhaustion.

Share with me your memory of that morning ... I know you will never forget either.

  1. I remember so vividly, my husband had left about an hour earlier to drive to California for a business trip. I had just gotten out of the shower myself, also getting ready for work.

My sister was driving her daughter to school when she called me yelling turn on the TV there's a been a plane crash they are not sure whats going on! I turned on the TV just as the towers fell.

I was so very, very scared. You did not know what to think. What was going on? Were we at war or what, terrorist, that only happens in the movies or foreign countries. This just can't be true, oh my god please don't let it be true.

I still went to work so scared trying to reach my husband by cell to tell him turn around, come home, please come home. They are saying it's terrorist!

The rest of the day we were just glued to the TV watching in amazement, fear, sadness, crying our eyes out.

My heart aches so bad today as I remember that morning so vividly.
