NaBloPoMo 10: Rain Puddles

Yesterday was a very heavy day for me. I spent it with my in laws and Hubs so that they could visit with Little 'Ny and we could watch some San Diego Charger football. Everything went fine, but internally I know Hubs and I were both sad about what November 9th represents.

Unlike Saturday the sky was filled with heavy rain clouds and the air was chilly. Before we headed over to my in law's place Little 'Ny and I watched the rain come down from our living room window. I love the smell of the air when it rains. I love the groggy feeling that comes over you when the weather is like that. As we watched the rain lighten up Little 'Ny looked up at me and said "Mama, can I jump in the rain puddles?"

Not long ago the incredible Zoeyjane wrote a post that moved me. When I finished reading her post I had a wonderful vision of her and her daughter splashing in the rain, laughing together and living in the moment. So, yesterday, after Little 'Ny asked me if she could jump in the rain puddles this vision came flooding back to me. I looked at Little 'Ny and said "Of course!"

Rain in Southern California is laughable to many people in Seattle (or other rainy states). But, Little 'Ny doesn't know the difference! A puddle of water of any size is fun. It is just too bad the one we found wasn't big enough for both of us!

  3. Bless your heart. I'm sorry I haven't been here to offer more support. You've been in my thoughts lately and I wasn't sure why. Now I know. Enjoy the beauty where you find it, my friend.
